Sandown Carnival

Building A Strong Community Spirit in Sandown

We aim to provide several safe and fun carnival processions each year, building upon a strong community spirit within Sandown and neighbouring villages. We sponsor schools and clubs to take part in the carnivals, encouraging parents and children to have a go. This brings the community together helping unlock the talents many did not know they had!

Above all we like to feel we provide a focal point during the summer where the people of Sandown can celebrate their achievements whilst spectators can watch an entertaining free event which benefits the entire community.

Our events are always fun-filled and provide great FREE entertainment for all ages. The procession route is around a mile long starting from the Esplanade overlooking the sea and then snakes through the town centre taking around an hour to complete and finally returning to the Esplanade. This means there are lots of great vantage points and if you are in the right place you'll get to see the processions TWICE!

Our comprehensive website has hundreds of high quality pictures, videos and historical details going back to our first carnival in 1952!
